{"id":24865,"date":"2016-12-05T16:05:00","date_gmt":"2016-12-05T07:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ejec.ej-hds.co.jp\/web\/?p=24865"},"modified":"2025-09-25T09:43:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-25T00:43:11","slug":"20161205ootagawajushou","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ejec.ej-hds.co.jp\/en\/all\/commendation\/20161205ootagawajushou\/","title":{"rendered":"Otagawaohashi Bridge wins FY 2016 JSCE Best Design Prize"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"comInfoBox\">\n<p class=\"comText left mt1 mb1\">The basic design for this bridge was selected as the best design in an international competition held in FY 2009.<br \/>\r\nIt was highly evaluated that the bridge design had successfully achieved the following three concepts to create a new homely landscape featuring \u201cHiroshima, city of water\u201d which would last long in people\u2019s memory based on the characteristics of the bridge\u2019s site where a relaxing landscape, a unique feature of the Seto area, spreads out.<br \/>\r\n\r\n(1) A bridge further highlighting the grandeur of Itsukushima Island and giving a feeling of home<br \/>\r\n(2) Pavements which are easy for local residents to use and which have enjoyable views<br \/>\r\n(3) Total design, from Otagawaohashi Bridge to an elevated bridge in the west with the possibility of future extension in mind\r\n<\/p>\n<p class=\"comText left mt1\">Two years since its completion, we can see many local people commute or just simply take a leisure walk crossing the bridge.
